3rd ASMET is canceled

Dear Colleagues:

On June 4, 2013, the US State Department issued a Travel Alert for Turkey noting concern about safety for travelers due to anti-government demonstrations which have been occurring in cities in Turkey, including Izmir.  For this reason, ASM has decided to cancel the planned ASMET – the ASM Emerging Technologies Conference, which was scheduled to occur June 25 – 28, 2013, at the Swissotel Grand Efes in Izmir, Turkey.  The ASM Conferences Committee will evaluate the possibility for rescheduling the conference, but no decision has been made at this time.

We deeply regret that we have had to make this difficult decision, but we must consider the safety of attendees and staff before anything else.
